Ms. So Jia Yu

Resident Assistant Tembusu College National University of Singapore
Jia Yu is a third-year student double majoring in Communications and New Media and Sociology. She is interested in all things related to the field of education, and finds great joy in sharing her perspectives and learning from individuals around her. Over the past two years in Tembusu, she has headed tMentors and has served as the Vice-President of Filmbusu.
Jia Yu is like a classic pizza Margherita - simple but never boring (or at least she hopes not to be)! She has a bunch of useless talents, ranging from impersonating accents to singing a duet by herself. Jia Yu also laughs at her own jokes half of the time, the other half is when she isn't telling any.
As a residential assistant, Jia Yu hopes to continue building meaningful relationships within the college community. If you're up for a good joke, puns, or a hearty conversation, she is always keen to chill and chat with you.
The Tembusu (Fagraea fragrans) is a large evergreen tree in the family Gentianaceae. It is native to Southeast Asia. Its trunk is dark brown, with deeply fissured bark, looking somewhat like a bittergourd. It grows in an irregular shape from 10 to 25m high. Its leaves are light green and oval in shape. Its yellowish flowers have a distinct fragrance and the fruits of the tree are bitter tasting red berries, which are eaten by birds and fruit bats.
