The Tembusu (Fagraea fragrans) is a large evergreen tree in the family Gentianaceae. It is native to Southeast Asia. Its trunk is dark brown, with deeply fissured bark, looking somewhat like a bittergourd. It grows in an irregular shape from 10 to 25m high. Its leaves are light green and oval in shape. Its yellowish flowers have a distinct fragrance and the fruits of the tree are bitter tasting red berries, which are eaten by birds and fruit bats. Source: Tembusu, Wikipedia

Subi is global head of Human Resources of Pacific Basin, one of the best known companies in the dry bulk shipping industry, with about 3500 employees.

Growing up, Subi was absolutely sure he wanted to be a lawyer, but once he became one, he realized he didn’t enjoy the job, or the killer instinct he developed to be successful at it.

So he followed his career on various twists and turns before he found his true calling – HR – for which he has no traditional training or qualifications.

Subi will talk with us about unexpected journeys and living a life of possibilities.
