In May 2015, Dr Kuan Yee Han traveled to North Korea to see, first-hand, what life was like inside. 8 days in the Hermit Kingdom, taking in the sights and sounds of Pyongyang city, the demilitarized zone (DMZ), and the Eastern country side Mt Kumgang-Wonsan region, was truly an eye-opener. Much of the country was rather unsettling at times, and thick with propaganda and peculiar sights. Yet, the trip was also filled with amazing and unexpected surprises. North Korea was truly unlike any other place on earth.
