The Tembusu (Fagraea fragrans) is a large evergreen tree in the family Gentianaceae. It is native to Southeast Asia. Its trunk is dark brown, with deeply fissured bark, looking somewhat like a bittergourd. It grows in an irregular shape from 10 to 25m high. Its leaves are light green and oval in shape. Its yellowish flowers have a distinct fragrance and the fruits of the tree are bitter tasting red berries, which are eaten by birds and fruit bats. Source: Tembusu, Wikipedia

Master’s Tea with Deputy Assistant Commissioner Arthur Law

Deputy Assistant Commissioner (DAC) Arthur Law started his police career in 1996 as an Investigation Officer at Ang Mo Kio Police Division.  Subsequently, he joined the Police Special Tactics and Rescue Unit where he held various appointments and led a number of tactical operations culminating in the arrest of armed and dangerous criminals.

In 2007, DAC Law was appointed as Head Operations of the Special Operations Command where he was responsible for the operations planning and deployment of the Police Tactical Troops, also known as the Riot Police.

DAC Law was posted to Police Headquarters as Assistant Director Operations Planning in 2011.  He worked with various government agencies to develop joint operations plans and conduct national exercises to deal with a multitude of contingency events such as armed attacks, natural disasters, disease outbreaks and the haze situation.

DAC Law was appointed as Commander of Central Division on 2 January 2016.  As Commander of Central Division, DAC Law has to ensure the safety and security of downtown Singapore which includes overseeing public order for the many major events such as the Marina Bay Singapore Countdown, Chinese New Year Countdown, Chingay celebrations and Thaipusam.
