Student’s Tea with Mr Kan Lumé

Kan Lumé is one of Singapore’s most prolific filmmakers, having written, directed and produced several TV programmes for Channel 5, 8 and Art Central. Kan’s films have also won several awards- his debut feature film, The Art of Flirting, was named Best ASEAN Feature at the 2005 Malaysian Video Awards, competed for Best Film in the Jeonju International Film Festival under Digital Spectrum and was chosen as an Official Selection for over a dozen film festivals worldwide. His second feature SOLOS, was nominated for the silver screen awards at the Singapore International Film Festival 2007 and is the first local film to be in competition at the prestigious AFI Los Angeles. Kan will be screening some of his shorts – Study of a Singaporean Face, Libertas and Boy in Jogja – alongside a sharing session on filmmaking, cinematography, and creative freedom of expression in Singapore.
