The Tembusu (Fagraea fragrans) is a large evergreen tree in the family Gentianaceae. It is native to Southeast Asia. Its trunk is dark brown, with deeply fissured bark, looking somewhat like a bittergourd. It grows in an irregular shape from 10 to 25m high. Its leaves are light green and oval in shape. Its yellowish flowers have a distinct fragrance and the fruits of the tree are bitter tasting red berries, which are eaten by birds and fruit bats. Source: Tembusu, Wikipedia

Student’s Tea with Mr Tan Jun Yuan

Host: Charlene Fu

Jun Yuan (JY) enjoys embarking on the path less traveled. Not content with cruising through life, JY left his job as a product manager to set up a Bah Kut Teh stall that eventually got him featured as part of the SG50 campaign last year.

Even after rejoining the work force as a market researcher after closing his stall, food wastage remained an issue close to JY’s heart. He soon set his sights on tackling the inefficiencies in the F&B industry and 11th Hour was born, with the goal of reducing food wastage and offering consumers great food deals.

Join us to find out how you can do your part to reduce food wastage, and hear from JY on the ups and downs of being an entrepreneur, why he prefers the tough road
