The Tembusu (Fagraea fragrans) is a large evergreen tree in the family Gentianaceae. It is native to Southeast Asia. Its trunk is dark brown, with deeply fissured bark, looking somewhat like a bittergourd. It grows in an irregular shape from 10 to 25m high. Its leaves are light green and oval in shape. Its yellowish flowers have a distinct fragrance and the fruits of the tree are bitter tasting red berries, which are eaten by birds and fruit bats. Source: Tembusu, Wikipedia

Student’s Tea with Ms Farah H Sanwari

Host: Green T Movement

Ms Farah is the Executive Director of Sustainable Living Lab (SL2), a social innovation lab aiming to build a sustainable future through community building, and technology experimentation. Ms Farah also leads the Repair Kopitiam, a community-based movement to combat a buy-and-throw away culture through repair.

Ms Farah will share her experiences working in her area of passion – Sustainability. Having worked with different people from organisations, schools and the general public, Ms Farah has access to different perspectives of sustainability which she will share along with her personal experiences.

Students can also learn how they, as individuals, can contribute to a sustainable life and society.
