Student’s Tea with Ms Mrinalini Venkatachalam

Ms Mrinalini Venkatachalam currently heads the Public Awareness and Youth Initiatives branch of the Singapore Committee for UN Women, and has more than 9 years of experience with non-profit organisations. Her previous work includes generating awareness on mental health and advocating for accessibility and equal rights for disabled persons.
In her current role, she focuses on creating awareness amongst the youth and public on women’s issues that are often neglected, such as violence against women and the trafficking of women and children in other countries.
Ms Venkatachalam graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communicative English from Jyoti Nivas College, Bangalore University, and a Masters in Human Rights from Mahidol University.
Highlights
Ms Venkatachalam will be discussing more about her experiences with non-profit work, what she does in the Singapore Committee for UN Women, and Singapore’s role in promoting gender equality both locally and internationally.
