The Tembusu (Fagraea fragrans) is a large evergreen tree in the family Gentianaceae. It is native to Southeast Asia. Its trunk is dark brown, with deeply fissured bark, looking somewhat like a bittergourd. It grows in an irregular shape from 10 to 25m high. Its leaves are light green and oval in shape. Its yellowish flowers have a distinct fragrance and the fruits of the tree are bitter tasting red berries, which are eaten by birds and fruit bats. Source: Tembusu, Wikipedia

Kheng Yan is a fourth-year Chemical Engineering student, with minors in Computer Science and Data Science. 

In her past 3 years in Tembusu, she has participated in many activities, such as bouldering, frisbee-ing and dodgeball-ing. She was also once the co-captain of Tembusu’s Barefoots.

She was also a part of the Arts Council, which gave her a chance to indulge in her creative side and contribute to the college’s arts scene. On the side, she Winds and Symphs at NUS Wind Symphony with her trusty french horn.
