Sisipa is a third-year undergraduate majoring in Physics, with minors in Geoscience and Meteorology and Climate Science (can you tell she loves the Earth?)
On most days, you can find her somewhere in the ERC or in her room buried in a pile of calculations. The only way to lure her out is with a midnight Supersnacks run (cheese fries, always). When she isn’t doing physics, you can find her at the tennis courts. In her two years in Tembusu, she captained the Tembu Tennis team, picking up her favourite sport again after years away from the court. There’s something about a good rally and a satisfying serve that clears her head. She was also a proud member of the Ora House Committee (AY24/25). For Sisipa, Tembusu was, and still is, a huge part of her university life. Late-night supper runs and countless house events are where she found her closest friends to this day.
In her free time (if they exist), she will most likely show you her ever-growing rock collection, which has made stops across New Zealand, Australia, Patagonia, Canada, Germany, Switzerland, and Korea, with no signs of slowing down (special thanks to her friends for lugging rocks back for her). Lately, she has also picked up stargazing, and has plans to buy her first telescope to kickstart her astrophotography hobby if her bank account can handle it.
As a residential assistant, Sisipa wants Tembusu to feel like home, the same way it did for her as an international student. So if you ever need someone to listen, whether it’s a full rant, someone to sit with, or even a 2am conversation about our place in the universe, don’t hesitate to knock on her door. She’s probably still doing calculations, but she’ll always make time! 😊
