Shu Ying is a third-year undergraduate majoring in Life Sciences, with a minor in Bioinformatics. Despite having fully committed to pipetting microscopic volumes for life (don’t worry she deeply loves research), she has a soft spot for the humanities/arts, and is the first person ever to say they enjoyed taking CHS core modules.
When Shu Ying isn’t in the lab nerding out over a (finally) successful experiment, she can be found doing something from her massively oversized hobby collection which includes dancing, bouldering, throwing dodgeballs or doing something artsy. This combined with her unfortunate love for side quests has led to her being always busy, but catch her at the right time and she’s always down for a yap and a supper run (and will initiate I’m Acai group orders).
As a proud international kid, Tembusu has become Shu Ying’s second home, and she hopes that she can make Tembusu feel that way for someone else, especially by being a residential assistant. She has met so many incredible people and formed some of her closest friendships here, and hopes to be able to meet more people in the coming year. So if you see her around, do say hi! She’s ready to listen to your rants, have heart to hearts, and try to convince you to come down to the MPH to throw balls with her.
